Sapna Bhalsod is a registered dietitian and a member of the care leadership team at WellTheory, a virtual care platform reversing the autoimmune epidemic through nutrition and lifestyle-based coaching. There, she provides expertise in nutrigenomics and functional lab testing to help guide individualized care for all members. Her expert insights are also frequently featured in consumer health and lifestyle publications spanning Health Digest to Popsugar.
Prior to joining WellTheory, Sapna worked in outpatient and in-patient settings at the nationally renowned Providence St. Johns Hospital in Santa Monica and at VA hospitals across Los Angeles. Her focus was on building and implementing nutrition-based collaborative care plans to reverse chronic diseases. Alongside her clinical experience, Sapna ran her own integrative and functional nutrition private practice where she took a root-cause approach to care and utilized food as medicine.
Driven by her personal journey navigating autoimmune disease and the gaps in status-quo care, Sapna received her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Michigan State and a Master of Science in Nutrition for Wellness from Bastyr University, a pioneer in science-based natural medicine studies. She is also an active member of the DIFIM (Dietitians in Integrative and Function Medicine) practice group and has further certification through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. As a member of the BIPOC community, Sapna is passionate about advocating for diversity in dietetics and wellness. In her free time, she serves as a mentor at Diversify Dietetics, a nonprofit dedicated to increasing ethnic and racial diversity in nutrition and dietetics.
